Dr. Farhadi is currently an Endowed Professor of Practice in Finance and Central International Bank Chair at The American University in Cairo. As German national, he earned his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Reading's Henley Business School. His academic interests center on exploring the interface between business analytics, sustainable finance, decision modeling and investment performance.

Specifically, Dr. Farhadi studies the quantitative impact of ESG metrics in predicting risk and returns of portfolios. He also evaluates how AI can be applied for deeper financial insights and fraud detection. His pioneering analytical work has investigated inconsistencies and anomalies in datasets ranging from stock markets to COVID-19 statistics across 200+ countries.

In addition to his cutting-edge scientific research, Dr. Farhadi brings three decades of consulting experience advising senior leadership of global corporations. His industry work focused extensively on financial strategy, ecosystem management, and M&A advisory.

In his writing and teaching, Dr. Farhadi synthesizes a global perspective spanning Europe, the Middle East and North America. Outside academics, his passions include contemporary art and applying analytics to uncover socio-economic trends.
